It grows no taller than half a metre, has dense foliage which is beautiful dark red, the autumn colour of it is carmine. It is excellent for low hedge or field boundary. Its bright yellow flowers bloom en masse in spring and bright red berries grow from them, they stay in the bush for long time in winter. It is easy to raise, not soil-picky, a grateful, hardened plant, does not like stagnant water. It appeared on the market in the Netherlands from 1942 and thanks to its high popularity, quickly spread throughout Western Europe. It is a strikingly beautiful adornment in rockeries as well as bears shape forming very well.
